Per Phillies Spanish commentator Angel Ibo Castillo, southpaw Wandy Rodriguez is on his way to Philadelphia for a physical after agreeing to terms with the club. There are few details right now but should it happen, it's a nice gamble on an arm that's been fairly consistant over the years.
From 2008-13 between Houston and Pittsburgh, Rodriguez's averaged a 3.56 ERA and was a proven workhorse. A brutal start, posting a 6.75 ERA in 2014, lead to Rodriguez's release from Pittsburgh. Despite the bad results of last season, Rodriguez would be a perfect low risk/high reward pitcher for the Phillies as they head into a season of rebuilding. More details are likely to follow.
