Just one day after acquiring shortstop Jean Segura and a pair of relievers from Seattle, the Philadelphia Phillies are honing in on one of their next targets — free agent left-hander, Patrick Corbin. The Phillies had Corbin in town for a visit at the end of November and executives around the league expect him to get a six-year deal worth at least $125 million.
Philadelphia has the money to spend and they are making it clear to Corbin that other teams won't be able to offer what they can in free agency.

Andy Martino of SNY reported earlier on Tuesday that the Phillies, Yankees and Nationals were all in on Corbin, but that rival executives speculat that Philadelphia is in 'strong position' to ink the 29-year-old southpaw. According to Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Phillies have already made an offer to Corbin and expects a decision to come this week.
Corbin is coming off of an All-Star season with the Diamondbacks, posting an 11-7 record to go along with a 3.15 ERA and 1.050 WHIP in 33 starts, spanning 200 innings. He also finished in the top-5 for NL Cy Young voting for the 2018 season.
