As we learned earlier, the Phillies will announce some major organizational changes shortly, at 2:30 p.m. But, not everything will change in one fell swoop. While Andy MacPhail is expected to be introduced as club president, the rest might not change for a while, including the general manager's position held by Ruben Amaro Jr.
Jerry Crasnick of ESPN reports that Amaro is safe… for now:
Ruben Amaro is staying with #Phillies for now, source confirms. Not going anywhere. But long-term future is obviously tenuous.

Crasnick likened the situation to last season in Arizona. When Tony La Russa took over baseball operations, Kevin Towers stayed on the job until September, before being replaced by Dave Stewart.
Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports that Pete Mackanin will remain as manager, too, but at season's end there could be a full search.
It's early yet, but I'm already hearing names who fit profile of what Andy MacPhail might look for in manager/GM with #Phillies

"Bud Black would be perfect there,'' said an MLB scout. Well-regarded, has experience and personality to manage in Philly.

Another scout mentioned #Royals JJ Picollo as GM candidate. Jersey guy, has been with a winner and run a farm dept. #Phillies

Overall, Crasnick is happy with the appointment of MacPhail:
Andy MacPhail will be a nice fit with #Phillies. He projects an air of calm and control that team really needs right now.

The MacPhail era begins at 2:30 today. Stay tuned.
