Despite all of the reports and rumors of trade requests and not coming back to voluntary workouts, Sam Bradford will return to Eagles camp today, Connor Barwin told 94 WIP.
"He'll be here today," Barwin said to Howard Eskin on the morning show. "I talked to him. He'll be there this week — he'll be here today." [CSNPhilly.com]
Bradford disappeared from workouts shortly after the Eagles traded up in the draft to select quarterback Carson Wentz. Sam agreed to a two-year deal with the Eagles, believing that he could be the future for the team at quarterback, but that quickly changed when they struck a deal with Cleveland to acquire the number two pick in the draft.
A few days ago, Jordan Matthews spoke with CSN about Bradford's situation, saying he believed that Sam was the guy for the job. Connor Barwin echoed those words this morning, stating that most of the team understands that Sam Bradford is the starter.
"At the end of the day, all that we really care about in the locker room is who is the best quarterback who is going to help us win games," Barwin said to WIP. "And I think right now, we're excited and we know we drafted Carson Wentz, but I think most of this locker room, or in not all of us, understand that Sam is our starting quarterback and he's going to be the best quarterback to help us win next year, so we're all excited to have him back." With Bradford set to return today, he'll have a full week before OTA's begin on May 17. Doug Pederson has hasn't wavered from Bradford being starting quarterback, saying that once he returns, which will be today, that the staff will "catch him up and we just keep going forward".
