The Philadelphia 76ers are actively looking for ways to improve their roster depth. They're reportedly willing to part ways with their 2019 first-round pick for immediate shooting help. One player they have checked in on is Hawks guard, Jeremy Lin.
According to Sean Deveney of Sporting News, the Sixers are one of three known teams that have reached out to Atlanta about Lin.
Sources tell SN that they [Blazers] have expressed interest in another player expected to be made available for a first-round pick: Atlanta point guard Jeremy Lin.
The Pelicans and Sixers have also inquired about Lin, and the Hawks may be able to create some bidding for his services ahead of the deadline. It’ll still be tough to wrestle one of those first-rounders away, but this time around, there are at least more on the market.
Lin, 30, would provide the Sixers with some scoring depth off the bench. He's averaging 11 points per game, shooting 48.7 percent from the floor and 36.1 percent from beyond the arc, both career-high's.
If the Hawks want to get a first-round pick for Lin, it seems unlikely that it would come from Philadelphia. The Sixers only have one pick in the first round after dealing their other in the 2017 draft night trade with Boston. Lin is on an expiring contract, so it would be high-risk for the Sixers to deal a first-rounder for a few month of 30-year-old Jeremy Lin. Not to mention, Lin isn't a great player off-ball and that's what the Sixers need.
