With NBA free agency underway as of 12:01 a.m., the Philadelphia 76ers and Rich Paul, agent to superstar LeBron James, will reportedly meet in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. According to SportsRadio 94 WIP's Jon Johnson, the meeting was "not originally planned."
Wojnarowski writes:
"James isn't expected to attend the meeting, which is the first significant chance for the 76ers to make case a free-agent case to James, league sources said. Ownership and possibly interim president of basketball operations/coach Brett Brown are expected to lead the meeting with James' representatives, sources said."
James, 33, opted out of his $35.6 million player option for the 2018-19 season on Friday. The Cavaliers and general manager Koby Altman did not meet in person with James or his representatives earlier today and only interacted through phone.
James reportedly landed at Los Angeles' Van Nuys airport via his private jet on Saturday.
