Roy Halladay Takes On Fish In Game Two Tonight

After Cliff Lee's performance of his career last night, the Phillies are back to 10 games under .500. Cliff Lee struck out 14 Marlins last night and drove in 4 RBI as well in the Phillies' 12-2 win in the series opener. Tonight Roy Halladay (3-4, 7.28 ERA) will take on Brian Flynn (0-1, 10.13 ERA) in game two.

Roy Halladay is coming off of a shakey outing against the Padres on Thursday. After four strong innings of work, Doc began to falter and allowed five walks in the fifth inning. All in all Halladay lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing four earned runs and striking out six in a no-decision. For the first time in his career, Halladay has allowed five walks in consecutive games. Although he has not endured a loss since returning from the DL August 25th, he has maintained a 5.06 ERA and has notched a win. In his last three, Doc has a 5.87 ERA. He will look to grow off of his last start as he takes on the Marlins, a team he has an 8-5 record and a 3.65 ERA against.

Brian Flynn is making his third start since being called up on September 4th. The 23 year-old lefty has yet to seal a win in the big leagues and is coming off of a rough outing against the Braves last Thursday. The Braves hit Flynn hard for six earned runs on six hits in four innings. In his two major league starts, Flynn has allowed nine earned in just eight innings. His career is still young and it's not too late to get a good start to it. He'll look to rebound as he takes on the Phillies for the first time in his career.
