The home opener is finally here as the Phillies face the Brewers for a three game set. The Phillies opened the series by sending Kyle Kendrick to the hill. Kyle started the year with a no decision, even though he pitched seven strong innings against the Rangers. The Brewers gave the ball to Kyle Lohse. In Lohse first outing of the year he faced the Braves taking the loss.

The Game: Phillies started the scoring in the bottom of first. With two outs, Carlos Ruiz worked a walk. Ryan Howard followed with a double, to allow Marlon Byrd to hit a single to drive in Ruiz. Domonic Brown would work a walk to load the bases, but Cesar Hernandez struck out to end the inning. 1-0 Phillies

In the top of the second, the Brewers came right back. With one out Jonathan Lucroy hit a double to left. Then with two outs Mark Reynolds singled him in to tie the game. 1-1

In the top of third, the Brewers took the lead. Carlos Gomez lead off with a double. Jean Segura then followed with a sac bunt, but still got on with error by Kendrick. Ryan Braun then crushed a homer to left. With one out, Lucroy walked. Then with two outs, Reynolds reached on an error by Asche. Scooter Gennett followed with a single drive in another run. 5-1 Brewers

In the top of fourth with two outs, Ryan Braun was back at with his second homerun of the day to add to the Brewers lead. In the bottom and two outs, Ben Revere hit a single to left. Rollins followed with a double to deep center to score Revere. 6-2 Brewers

In the bottom of the fifth and two outs, Domonic Brown worked a walk. Cesar Hernandez followed with a single to move up Brown. Cody Asche then hit a single to plate Brown. 6-3 Brewers

In the sixth the Phillies continued to craw back. Ben Revere led off with a triple to left. Rollins then singled him in, but that all the Phillies could get. 6-4 Brewers

The Brewers added to the lead in the seventh, but the Brewers finally blew it open in the eighth inning. With one out, Carlos Gomez hit a double. Brad Lincoln then hit Jean Segura to set up Ryan Bruan. On the first pitch, Lincoln hung a curveball that Braun crushed for his third homerun of the game. 10-4 Brewers

Other Phillies pitchers appearing in the game were B.J. Rosenberg and Mario Hollands.

Notable Offensive Statistics:

Ben Revere 2-5, 2 R

Jimmy Rollins 2-4, 2 RBI, BB

Domonic Brown 1-3, R, 2 BB

Impact: The Phillies defense killed them today. Domonic Brown and Ben Revere both misplayed a few balls in the outfield, including an error to Revere. Asche and Kendrick also had errors in the game. Ryan Braun had three homers in the game. Phillies may need to pitch around him the rest of the series.

Next Up: Tomorrow, the Phillies look to get back on track when they send Roberto Hernandez to the mound. Hernandez won his first start, going 5.1 innings against the Cubs last Friday. Matt Garza will oppose the Phillies. Garza took the loss in his first start, but only gave up one run in seven innings against the Braves.

Reminder, tomorrow is Opening Night for the Phillies
