Radnor PA: As we are getting ready to close the month of February and enter the best month for any sports fan, March Madness, the Villanova Wildcats are on the bubble and attempting to show everyone why they should be in the conservation & they would do that as they battled Butler on Wednesday night at Finneran Pavilion & it was also Senior night.

How the game went:

Villanova started the game on a 4-0 run before the Bulldogs got on the board, Wildcats took an 11-9 lead at the end of 1st quarter, the second quarter the Wildcats kept the pressure on the Bulldogs and at one point had a 5 point lead at 16-11 & go into halftime leading 25-19. The game would change in the third quarter as the Bulldogs would come out and be the aggressive ones which saw them take the lead for the 1st time at 32-31 with 4:32 left, in total the Bulldogs would drop a 21 point 3 rd quarter  & take a 40-35 lead going into the 4th & final quarter. Villanova would start the 4th quarter on a 10-0 run before Butlers responded with 3 pointers for a 45-43 lead, the Bulldogs came down & with 2 monster three-pointers down the stretch including the game-tying one at 54 with 7 seconds left

 

 

Villanova would get the final shot & hit the winning shot with .4 on the clock from Ryanne Allen

 

 

The Wildcats would hold on for a big 56-54 win to keep their postseason hopes still alive

The Villanova Wildcats will attempt to keep things going as they go on the road on Sunday at Creighton before heading to the Big East Tournament on March 7-10 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
