Wednesday night was a hectic night in Philadelphia sports. The Phillies blew a lead in the ninth, the Flyers were shutout by the Red Wings and Sixers rebuild architect Sam Hinkie resigned due to the changes made within the organization over the past months.
The Sixers brought on Jerry Colangelo in December, signaling a potential shift in management. Owner Josh Harris had planned to bring in Colangelo's son, Bryan, and have him and Jerry deal more with agents and players when free agency came around, according to CSN's John Gonzalez. Sam Hinkie wasn't willing to give up any more power, so he wrote the Sixers a 13-page resignation letter that was acquired by ESPN on Wednesday.
Whether or not you were a fan of Hinkie's "process", something should be clear to everyone here. Sixers management is a mess and there's no telling where things will go from here. To read Sam Hinkie's full resignation letter, click here.
