Per Marc J Spears of ESPN, the Sixers and singer Sevyn Streeter have released a pair of statements in regards to Streeter returning in December to sing the national anthem. Streeter made headlines last week during the opener when she tweeted a video saying she was pulled from signing the anthem at the last minute for wearing a jersey that said "We Matter". This obviously created lots of controversy between the players, team management and the fans as well.
In the statements, it appears the fences have been mended and that Streeter will return to the Wells Fargo Center on December 16 against the Los Angeles Lakers to sing the anthem. On top of that, both parties will join forces in a community outreach effort with the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.
