The Flyers hottest prospect is making the jump to the pros. Shayne Gostisbehere, the highly-touted defenseman for the recently crowned national champion Union College, has signed an entry-level contract with the Flyers and will play for the Adirondack Phantoms this weekend.
It was a big weekend for Gostisbehere in the Frozen Four. In addition to being on Union's national championship team, he scored a goal and added two assists in the title game while being a plus-7 in the 7-4 victory over Minnesota.
Gostisbehere was also named Most Outstanding Player for the Frozen Four.
Gostisbehere was the Flyers third-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. In his career at Union, he scored 22 goals and added 60 assists in 118 games.
