The Flyers 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night came at a cost.

In the third period, both Wayne Simmonds and Andrew MacDonald suffered injuries that will cut their seasons short, as both will sit out the remaining seven games this season.

Simmonds was hit was a Mark Streit shot late in the third and has a lower-body injury. The official injury is a fractured left leg. In the first, Simmonds scored his 28th goal of the season, which is one short of his career high.

MacDonald is out with an upper-body injury, a fracture in his right hand, after also blocking a shot in the third.

Replacements will likely be announced in the coming days.
