During a one-hour special on NBATV, the National Basketball Association announced the complete schedule for the entire 2015-16 season. The Sixers got their first look at their slate of games for the season, and fans now can mark their calendars with certainty for the top games to get to “The Center”.
At the top of that list will likely be the home opener. This will be fans’ first chance to see top-three pick Jahlil Okafor in person (or at least in South Philadelphia) will be Friday, October 30 against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz. The season will begin two days before that on the 28th in Boston.
Immediately after the home opener, there will be the same buzz, if not more, at “The Center.” In Game 3 of the season, they will welcome the defending-East champions, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavilers. Overall, they will play only 5 of their first 18 games at home, which is remarkably unbalanced. It features back-to-back games in Oklahoma City and San Antonio.
Some of the more notable home games include three in the first week of December. For any fans that wanted a point guard in the draft over Okafor, they will get a chance to see the two top-8 point guards in person in one week. On December 1, they will play D’Angelo Russell, Kobe Bryant and the L.A. Lakers, and then on Dec. 5 they will host Emmanuel Mudiay and the Nuggets. To wrap the week up, they will host the Spurs on the 7th.
They will host Andre Iguodala and the World Champion Warriors on January 30. The home finale will be against Michael Carter-Williams and the Bucks on April 10, and they will wrap the regular season up in Chicago on April 13.
