Sixers’ Ben Simmons will be rookie class’ best in five years, NBA GM’s vote

Annually, NBA.com's John Schuhmann conducts a survey among all of the general managers across the NBA. He asks questions about their thoughts on the upcoming season, and about particular players and their chances at success in the coming year.
The one question that garnered an acclaim towards a particular Sixers player was "Who will be the best player from this year's rookie class in five years?" The number one choice was completely dominated by none other than Ben Simmons at 70% of the vote, beating out fellow rookies Kris Dunn and Brandon Ingram, as well as teammate Joel Embiid.
Simmons, who was the Sixers No. 1 draft pick this year, is arguably one of the most prolific young players in basketball, and is one of the bigger mysteries on how well he will play once he finally gets a chance to grace the court.
The rookie is sidelined for three months due to a broken foot suffered in late September. GM's don't believe Simmons will win the NBA's Rookie of the Year award (only 13.3%), however, their belief that Simmons will be the best rookie from this class five years from now is promising and comforting to know that they think that Bryan Colangelo and the Sixers brass made the right choice.
Sixers fans are awaiting the fanfare that will come with Simmons' debut in late December/early January, and he will soon be the player that will hopefully lead the Sixers to playoff glory and eventually, an NBA Championship.
