Sixers center Jahlil Okafor made the wrong side of headlines on Thursday when video emerged of Okafor involved in a street fight. The fight began as Okafor was heckled on the street in Boston by a popular night club. On Friday as the Sixers gathered in Houston at the Toyota center to get ready to face the Houston Rockets, Okafor spoke to reporters about the incident, including John Finger of CSN Philly.
In Finger's report (included with the video above) Okafor apologized for the "dumb" fight:
“It was definitely dumb on my part and something I’m embarrassed about,” Okafor said. “We’re still dealing with the league and with the team, but I’m not happy about it at all. We’re going through the whole process of what we’re going to do.”“People were just making fun of how we’ve been losing and I did the dumb thing and reacted to it,” Okafor said.
After saying that he is "still dealing with the league and with the team", Okafor could still face disciplinary action.
However, Okafor is in the starting lineup tonight in Houston against the Rockets. Read Finger's full report about the incident on CSN Philly, including head coach Brett Brown's response.
