The Sixers fly down to Charlotte tonight and are without the services of Joel Embiid. Jahlil Okafor, who sat out last night, will play this evening.
The Hornets are coming off a loss to Boston on Saturday but sit at 2-1 so far for the season. Kemba Walker is coming off a strong scoring performance with 29 but the rest of the team has been pretty light in the scoring department thus far. It should be a nice opportunity for Philadelphia, even without Embiid but Walker is going to prove to be a tough obstacle. Former Sixer Spencer Hawes is in the mix off the Charlotte bench.
Last night was a bit of a heart breaker and it should be interesting to see how the Sixers respond after letting one get away. This is about as good of a match up for them schedule wise as they are going to get for a while so even though it's a back to back, one hopes they come out blazing tonight so they can grab a needed win. Working against them is just how bad they look without Embiid. Working for them is Dario Saric, Sergio Rodriguez, and Hollis Thompson look to follow up a great night. Also here's hoping Okafor has a nice showing as he is slotted for 20 minutes of play along with Richaun Holmes who figures to get some serious minutes tonight.
Newly acquired Sixer, Ersan Illyasova has also joined the team in Charlotte and it sounds like he will very much factor into tonight's action.
New #Sixers PF Ersan Ilyasova is expected to play a lot tonight.
