On Saturday morning, the Sixers officially waived Kris Humphries, Emeka Okafor and James Blackmon Jr., shaving their roster to 17. By Monday, it'll have to be at 15 along with two players under two-way contracts. Shortly after the announcment that confirmed the waiving of the three guys mentioned above, the team announced three signings, affecting mostly the teams' G-League affiliate in Delaware. Philadelphia agreed to a two-way deal with guard Jacob Pullen while also signing Andrew Andrews, Marc Loving and James Webb III, all of whom are bound for the 87ers.
Jacob Pullen joins James Michael McAdoo as the Sixers' second two-way player on the roster. Although the majority of their season will be spent in the G-League, as a two-way player, they will have the opportunity to spend up to 45 days with the Sixers, not including Summer League, training camp or preseason time with the team. Pullen averaged 2.8 points and 1.0 assist in four preseason games, playing just under seven minutes per contest. Playing overseas last season, Pullen appeared in 40 games and averaged 10 points and two assists.
Marc Loving averaged 12.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game last season for Ohio State, shooting just over 38 percent from beyond the arc. In four seasons with the Buckeyes, Loving averaged 10.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 41.9 percent from the floor.
Andrew Andrews joins the Sixers after playing the the Turkish Basketball Super League last season. In 19 games, he averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, shooting 43.1 percent from the floor. He went undrafted in 2016 after playing at the University of Washington for four years. He was with the Charlotte Hornets during camp and preseason play, appearing in three games.
Webb III is a familiar name to the Sixers as he spent a bulk of last season with the Delaware 87ers. He played in 39 games, all starts, and averaged 13.1 points and 9.3 rebounds in nearly 35 minutes per game. Webb went undrafted in 2016 after three strong seasons at Boise State.
Emeka Okafor will also join the Sixers' G-League affiliate, with hopes of landing an NBA job over the coming months according to Ian Begley of ESPN.
