A day removed from statement issued by Sixers players in response to the organization's decision to remove singer Sevyn Streeter from performing the national anthem because of her decision to wear a "We Matter" t-shirt prior to the game, the Sixers have issued a statement to the situation, as reported by many including Jessica Camerato, of CSN Philly.

The Sixers received a large amount of press coverage for the incident, which has become relevant across sports on many platforms over the course of several months.

Nik Stauskas, Gerald Henderson, and Robert Covington represented the Sixers players in statements yesterday to the media in which they were disappointed with the team's actions towards Streeter who was denied a chance to perform on national television for the opening night of basketball in Philly.

The statement allows the Sixers to move forward from the situation, however, there has yet to be a statement from the specific players who voiced their concerns yesterday, as the waited for a response from the team.
