PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers (4-10) snapped their five-game skid to the Miami Heat (4-9) with a 101-94 victory Monday evening at the Wells Fargo Center.

In the process, the Sixers captured their fourth straight home win and their second straight win overall in as many games. The last time head coach Brett Brown's squad accomplished each feat was in February and March of 2015, respectively.

Heat center Hassan Whiteside, who leads the league in rebounds, grabbed 13 in the defeat while scoring a career-high 32 points. It was the 13th straight time that the five-year veteran grabbed double figures in boards, the longest streak in the NBA this season and in Heat franchise history. Whiteside was opposed by Sixers rookie big man Joel Embiid, who lead the team in points (22) and blocks (3) en route to the victory.

"Every time people hear my name, I want them to know that I'm a dominant player," Embiid said to Sixers sideline reporter Molly Sullivan French in a postgame television interview.

Embiid has scored 20 or more points in five of his 10 starts this season. He has recorded fewer than five rebounds just once, his second career game on Saturday, Oct. 29 against the Atlanta Hawks (2).

Guard Jerryd Bayless (wrist) made his Sixers and season debut with five assists through 15 minutes on the court. It was his first game action since March 30 with the Milwaukee Bucks last season.

The Sixers are now 33-22 (0.600) in 55 games all-time against the Heat at home.
