Sad news for the Sixers family tonight as legendary stat keeper Harvey Pollack has passed away at age 93.
Harvey was the last of the original employees of the NBA when it began in 1946. Nicknamed "Super Stat," he kept statistics on games that no other teams took notice of, basically inventing the modern box score. He was also a walking history book for the league and particularly the Sixers, having witnessed many of the most legendary moments in team history. He is the one who drew the 100 sign that Wilt is holding in that picture, and was basically a walking, talking Wilt Chamberlain statistical biography. He coined the term "triple-double." Truly an NBA and Sixers legend. He will be missed.
