The Sixers have expressed interest in free agent PG Kendall Marshall, and are likely to extend him an invite to training camp, this according to reports from SI writer Jack Fischer.
Marshall was taken 13th over all by the Phoenix Suns in the 2012. Despite being a lottery pick, Marshall has had a rather ignominious career, having been traded twice and waived 3 times in his short NBA career. His only meaningful playing time came in his second year when, for the Lakers, he played in 54 games (started 45) averaging 10 points and 11 assists per 36 minutes, making him well overqualified for PG of the Sixers.
Hurtling towards the end of summer, the most glaring hole in the Sixers (admittedly always in flux) roster is at the PG spot. While no one expects the Sixers to make a big splash, we've all been looking for a hint of who might be the solution (where forth art thou Ish?!?!). Marshall would actually be a nice spot fill for the year, fits the mold of players that are young, cheap, and have some untapped upside.
