The Philadelphia 76ers are going to face the Miami Heat, who are currently on a 13 game winning streak with their win over the Brooklyn Nets, who have lost 12 straight. The Sixers have met the Heat during this current 13 game winning streak and lost 102-125. They met last Saturday.
Yes, the Heat continue this impressive, historical winning streak. This is the longest streak for a team with a losing record. This is also their 3rd longest winning streak in franchise history. From a shaky offseason, to now, this team has rebounded from what could have been a major setback. They did trail the Nets by 11 points in the 3rd quarter, but managed to grab the lead heading into the 4th and won 108-99.
The Sixers snapped a 5 gamelosing streak of their own by beating the Orlando Magic 112-111 on Tbursday. Greatest clutch player of all time, TJ McConnell, made a jumper with just several seconds remaining to give the Sixers the lead, and then grabbed a steal so the Magic couldn't even get a shot off to win. TJ played both sides of the ball, which was really nice to see.
The Sixers look to continue this streak of wins over Florida teams, but it won't be easy. For one, they are still without Joel Embiid and, if the last meeting between these two is a signal, Hassan Whiteside may once again do major damage. The Sixers definitely will need to make an effort in securing rebounds. They can't afford to give the Heat extra possessions.
