Sixers reportedly ‘gauging interest’ from teams on Jahlil Okafor

Although the Sixers are likely to stay put at the trade deadline, that doesn't mean they won't be taking calls and making calls leading up to Thursday at 3PM to see if there is a way to better the organization for the future. Both Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor have been talked about as the deadline approaches, but it's clear that it would make little sense to move either before seeing how Joel Embiid recovers from him two foot surgeries. That hasn't stopped the Sixers from exploring their options though, according to Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times.

In his rookie season with the Sixers, Jahlil Okafor is averaging 17.1 points, good for a first-place tie with Karl-Anthony Towns among this year's rookie class, and 7.4 rebounds, good for third. Philadelphia has yet to crack the code of a front court that has both Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor on the floor consistently at the same time, so once Joel Embiid and Dario Saric join the picture, along with draft picks, the team could part ways with one of their big men currently on the roster.

It would be shocking to nearly everyone if Okafor is moved before tomorrow, then again, did anyone see the Michael Carter-Williams trade coming?
