Sixers Sign Jarvis Varnado

The Sixers have announced they have signed the 6-9 forward, Jarvis Varnado, for the remainder of the season.

Varnado was signed to a 10-day contract by the Sixers on March 1st and has performed well enough in the playing time he has been given. In just under 13 minutes per game, Varnado has averaged 2.8 points and 3.4 rebounds.

His best game with the Sixers was against the Thunder on March 4th, where he scored six points and grabbed six rebounds in 18 minutes.

Varnado has played 19 games in the NBA since being drafted in the second round of the 2010 draft by the Heat. Before being signed to the 10-day contract, he was second in the D-League in rebounding (11.0 rpg) and first in blocks (4.7 bpg) and was named an All-Star as a member of the Iowa Energy.

The Sixers are back in action tonight as they host the Sacramento Kings at 7PM. They are looking to snap their 17-game losing streak.
