The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Thursday that they have officially signed second-round pick Shake Milton to a two-way contract. Milton was selected 54th overall by the Sixers after sending the 56th and 60th picks to the Dallas Mavericks on draft night.
Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Brett Brown announced today that the team has signed guard Shake Milton to a two-way contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Per NBA rules, teams are permitted to sign two players to two-way contracts in addition to the 15-man NBA regular-season roster. A two-way player for the 76ers will provide services to the team’s G League affiliate – the Delaware Blue Coats – but can spend up to 45 days with the 76ers, not including any time spent with Philadelphia prior to the start of Blue Coats’ training camp or following the conclusion of Delaware’s regular season.
Milton missed out on Summer League after suffering a stress fracture in his back during the pre-draft process.
A native of Owasso, Oklahoma, Milton played three seasons at SMU with the most recent one featuring averages of 18 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting just under 45 percent overall and 43.4 percent from beyond the arc. Over his three years in college, the 6-foot-5 guard shot a combined 45.2 percent overall and 42.7 percent from beyond the arc.
The Sixers have 14 players signed to guaranteed contracts for the 2018-19 season with T.J. McConnell's deal non-guaranteed.
