Sixers to interview De’Aaron Fox at NBA Draft Combine on Thursday

The NBA Draft Combine continues this week as the future of the league meet with teams before the Draft occurs in June. The Sixers met with potential No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz on Wednesday night, and now reports say the team will meet with former Kentucky guard De'Aaron Fox.

Fox averaged 17 points, five assists, and four rebounds per game last season for Kentucky, where he was a one-and-done. Fox was a first team All-SEC selection last year.

One of Fox's strengths is his speed and his off-the-charts athleticism. He has the explosiveness that most of the other point guards in this draft class lack.

One weakness that stands out for Fox is his lack of a jump shot ability in some circumstances. Fox made just 31-percent of his pull-up jumpers, and 20-percent of his spot ups in the half court this past season.

It's not expected for Fox to land in the top-five, but it is very possible that he will be a Top-10 draft pick. Fox comes in at 6-foot 4-inches and while the Sixers don't have an immediate need for an actual point guard with Ben Simmons utilizing that role, the Sixers could in fact bring in Fox to serve as a stretch-two player, as the team currently is in dire need of a shooting guard.

The Sixers will continue to interview players, as Keith Pompey reports that the team will interview Miami guard Davon Reed and Purdue power forward Caleb Swanigan.

Pompey also reported that Villanova star guard Josh Hart does not have plans to interview with the Sixers at the combine.
