Phew! When it seemed to be another horrible blow to an injury-ridden season for the Phillies, the team finally has some good news.
Ryan Lawrence of the Delaware County Times reports that Carlos Ruiz had a simple cramp, not an oblique strain. For insurance, the Phillies have called up catcher Erik Kratz anyway for some extra options at catcher and optioned pitcher B.J. Rosenberg back to AAA Lehigh Valley.
Lawrence says Ruiz has been hitting in the cage this morning, but is likely to get a day or two off.
