Sproles reportedly suffered a hamstring injury in practice. The injury is not serious, but the Eagles will sit him out in the hopes of getting him back at 100% next week.
Sproles led Eagles running backs by taking 29 snaps in their week one victory. Shelton Gibson or Wendell Smallwood are likely to serve as the punt returner while Sproles is sidelined and Jay Ajayi is the running back expected to see the most snaps and touches this Sunday.
Sproles had just passed Marshall Faulk and Steve Smith Sr. for sixth on the all-purpose yard leader list with his 61 all-purpose yards against the Falcons last week. He is 457 yards behind Tim Brown for fifth place all-time, a number that should be easily achievable for Sproles as long as he is able to stay on the field for the rest of the season.
