The talk around the Eagles this winter has been primarily about the quarterback position. Is Nick Foles Chip Kelly's guy? Will the Eagles trade up to get Marcus Mariota? While we may have to wait until April to find out those answers, another quarterback is in the picture as well.
Last year's backup, Mark Sanchez, is an unrestricted free agent and though he might be the most attractive quarterback on the market, Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com says that the Eagles and Sanchez have expressed interest in a reunion.
Considered by many to be the best quarterback option on the market, the Eagles and Sanchez have a strong mutual interest in reuniting next season, a person close to the situation who requested anonymity told NJ Advance Media.
Whether a deal will be completed before the unofficial start of free agency remains to be seen. Sanchez can begin fielding calls from other teams on Saturday at noon.
Sanchez took over for the injured Nick Foles and threw for 2,418 yards, 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He completed 64.1 percent of his passes.
