All Star Game
For years, a key member of the core of the team would represent the Flyers at the All-Star Game — usually Claude Giroux and occasionally Jake Voracek or Wayne Simmonds. At 22, Konecny enters the national spotlight with his first All-Star appearance, perhaps only scratching the surface of his potential.
Flyers All-Star Claude Giroux scored a goal, but the Metropolitan Division was defeated by the Atlantic Division, 7-4, in the semi-final round. The Pacific Division defeated the Central Division, 5-2, to advance to the final as well. In the final, the Pacific defeated the Atlantic, 5-2, to win the All-Star Game.
