The Phillies have made the following roster moves. Relievers Connor Brogdon and Blake Parker have been called up. Nick Pivetta has been optioned to triple-A. Nick Williams and Trevor Kelley have been designated for assignment.

On the heels on a dominating, but way too close (looking at you, Nick Pivetta) 13-8 win over the Atlanta Braves Monday night, the Phillies (5-6) host the rebuilding Baltimore Orioles (7-7) for a three game series at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies (4-6) have not won a game started by Aaron Nola since Aug 20, 2019. That is almost a calendar year across nine starts. If the Phils want to contend for a playoff spot this season, that trend needs to end Monday night when the final game of a four game series against the Atlanta Braves (11-6) gets underway at 6:05 ET.

After playing the best game of their season Friday night, the Phillies (4-4) will host another seven-inning doubleheader Sunday against the NL East rival Atlanta Braves (9-6) with second place in the NL East on the line.

Friday night’s game between the Phils and Atlanta Braves has been rained out; it will be made up as a doubleheader on Sunday, both games being seven innings.

Coming off a seven day break, the Phillies (1-3) bats could not muster enough offense against New York Yankees (8-1) ace Gerrit Cole as they lost the first of a four game series, 6-3 at Yankee Stadium.

The Phillies have announced the additions of RHP Adonis Medina, IF Bryson Stott and IF/OF Austin Listi to the club’s 60-man player pool. All three will report to the team’s alternate training site in Lehigh Valley.

On a night where Aaron Nola looked to run out of gas in the sixth, the Phillies offense was flat and a rookie made a rocky big-league debut out of the pen, SS Didi Gregorius shined bright. He had two hits including a home run in a 5-2 loss to the Marlins.

The Phillies (0-0) host the Miami Marlins (0-0) at Citizens Bank Park to open the 2020 season. RHP Aaron Nola faces off against 2019 NL All-Star RHP Sandy Alcantara for the Marlins.
