As free agency begins on Friday at noon, the Flyers have $8.6 million in cap space available, but have to sign Phil Myers and Nolan Patrick as well. That doesn’t leave the Flyers with much room for signing free agents, but they may explore low-risk forward options or look for a defenseman. Here are a few names to watch.

Cherry Hill, NJ native Bobby Ryan was named the winner of the Masterton Memorial Trophy, presented to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom was also a finalist.

Despite the ongoing pause due to the pandemic, voting is underway for NHL awards and the Flyers are sure to be represented with candidates in a handful of categories. 

Monday, the Flyers will face the Ottawa Senators, the team at the bottom of the NHL standings and a team that looks a lot different following the trade deadline two weeks ago. It is one of the rare games left on the Flyers schedule against a team outside the playoff picture.

Ever since he entered the NHL, Sean Couturier has been an under-appreciated player for the Philadelphia Flyers. Now he has turned into a valuable top-six center for the team that drafted him back in 2011.
