In career game No. 999 on Sunday night, Giroux reached another milestone. A goal in the second period was his 900th career point. Team Canada defeated Czech Republic and Russia defeated Germany to round out the final four teams of the tournament.
Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher had a good first draft because of a move to get back into the second round and move up to take a first-round talent while taking calculated risks on his middle round picks.
