The Phantoms failed to score on a four-minute power play in overtime, and the Hartford Wolf Pack won the shootout, 2-0, to collect a 3-2 victory at PPL Center on Friday night.
Photo: Nina Weiss/Flyerdelphia To say that this upcoming stretch for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms is crucial would be an understatement. With seven of the next eight games at the friendly confines of PPL Center, the Phantoms were presented with a perfect opportunity to make a drive to playoff contention. Photo: Steve Kuzma/Flyerdelphia The Lehigh Valley Phantoms were riding a four-game winning streak as they prepared for the final game against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before heading into the All-Star break. Looking to keep the momentum going, they wanted to end on a positive note. They did just that with a 5-3 win on Saturday night […]
On Wednesday night, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms tried to accomplish something they hadn't all season: complete a three-game winning streak. View image | gettyimages.com It's been five games for Shayne Gostisbehere, but I've seen enough. The Flyers should not return the 22-year-old rookie defenseman to the minors after Mark Streit returns from injury, or for any other reason for that matter. It's not just because he happens to have more goals scored than the […]
Photo: Nina Weiss/Flyerdelphia The Flyers have recalled forward Colin McDonald from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, GM Ron Hextall announced on Tuesday. McDonald, who had served as the team captain in Lehigh Valley, recently returned from injury after going down in the Phantoms season opener. He has one assist in four games with the Phantoms.
