The Flyers made a trade with the Carolina Hurricanes after all, acquiring the rights to forward Massimo Rizzo and a 2025 fifth-round pick for the rights to forward David Kase.
The Flyers announced they have re-signed defenseman Sam Morin to a one-year, $750,000 deal. In addition, they extended qualifying offers to forwards Connor Bunnaman and David Kase, defenseman Travis Sanheim, and goalie Carter Hart. They did not qualify an offer to forward Pascal Laberge.
While the Rangers snapped a four-game losing streak and earned just their fifth win of the season against the Flyers on Thursday night, the circumstances the Flyers were in made this an uphill battle from the start. The Flyers got off to a good one at that, but ultimately had to overcome too much to secure that second point.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms released their 25-man roster for training camp this past Monday. The Phantoms were scheduled to face off against the Binghamton Devils on Jan. 29, and then against the Hershey Bears on Jan. 31, but both games were postponed to maintain the health and safety of players, coaches, and other game day personnel.
