The Flyers managed a small rally in the opening period to trim the margin to one twice in the game, but eventually fell for the ninth straight game with a 7-5 loss to the Avalanche at Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers were locked in a close game with the Avalanche until the bitter end, falling in their second game of the season by a score of 5-2 in Denver on Saturday night.
The Flyers couldn't have asked for a better start to a four-game homestand, securing wins against the Oilers and Panthers both by 4-1 finals.
