The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Flyers, as a stretch of four games in six days begins with the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, who are starting to heat up at the right time again.

Now that the Flyers are comfortably in the playoff picture, it’s time to see where they stand up against tougher competition. This week will provide plenty of opportunity to prove they belong among the top teams in the conference and the league.

This is only the beginning on a very difficult month of March ahead, and that continues with one of the hottest teams in hockey looking to make an improbable run back into the playoff picture. The Flyers close out a weekend back-to-back against the Florida Panthers on Sunday afternoon.

For the Flyers, the chance for a new streak begins against the Eastern Conference’s best in the Tampa Bay Lightning, winners in five of their last six games. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

The Flyers were probably due for a game and result like this, but a new standard has been set for how the Flyers should approach a game and play and the team didn’t live up to it in front of the home crowd on this night.

The Flyers were 8-11-7 after a 10th straight loss on Dec. 3. They have gone 26-8-3 since to not only move comfortably in the playoff race, but also challenge for the Metropolitan Division title.

The Flyers face the Montreal Canadiens, this time on the road, for the third and final time this season, with each of the first two matches coming earlier this month.

The Flyers claimed defenseman Johnny Oduya off waivers from the Ottawa Senators, GM Ron Hextall announced. The team also lost defenseman Mark Alt to the Colorado Avalanche through waivers.

For a change, Flyers GM Ron Hextall can look at the market and see if there are any options that improve the team in the here and now at the trade deadline. Despite the rise in the standings and the flurry of activity from Eastern Conference counterparts, he needs to stay the course.

The Philadelphia Flyers continue to climb the division standings after a 5-3 win over the lowly Ottawa Senators.

The Philadelphia Flyers are in search for an elusive fifth-straight win and their first victory over the Ottawa Senators this season in a Saturday afternoon tilt.

This about another tight hockey game where the Flyers managed to stay the course and overcome some adversity to claim two points again in a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Flyers and Rangers have had many classic games over the years, but this was certainly one of the crazier affairs between the two. Ultimately, the Flyers were able to survive the adversity and come away with another win, a 7-4 victory over the Rangers.

Defense was optional in a wild affair at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon, but the Flyers continued to capitalize on chances throughout the game, taking a 7-4 win over the New York Rangers.

The Flyers carry a seven-game points streak into Sunday’s matchup against the struggling New York Rangers. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
