Flyers-Devils Observations: A Much-Needed Road Win

The Flyers 4-3 shootout win against the New Jersey Devils certainly was not pretty, but it was a much-needed road win to get things back on track. Here are a few observations from the win over the Devils.

Flyers Call Up 3 from Phantoms

Defenseman Phil Myers and forwards German Rubtsov and Carsen Twarynski were called up from Lehigh Valley. Forward Mikhail Vorobyev was sent down. Defenseman Sam Morin was sent to the Phantoms on a conditioning assignment.

Flyers Make More Cuts, Roster Down to 27

Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher announced seven additional roster cuts on Tuesday that bring the roster to 27 with just two games remaining in the preseason and two days left until the team heads to Europe.

Flyers-Islanders Observations: Outmatched at the End

The end results have not been as desired to start the preseason, but that means very little before the regular season. There are no points on the line and rosters are not fully constructed. All you had to do was look at the two rosters in Tuesday’s game on the road for the Flyers to see the disparity.
