A veteran-heavy lineup delivered an expected result against the New York Rangers on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center, getting a 4-1 win for the Flyers’ first win of the preseason.
Saturday marks the final time the Flyers will take the ice at Wells Fargo Center before the home opener in Philadelphia on Oct. 9. Once again, there will definitely be a lot of veterans in the lineup. Game time is at 7 p.m.
The end results have not been as desired to start the preseason, but that means very little before the regular season. There are no points on the line and rosters are not fully constructed. All you had to do was look at the two rosters in Tuesday’s game on the road for the Flyers to see the disparity.
The Islanders scored with 1:34 left in the third to force overtime and won the game in the final minute of overtime, defeating the Flyers, 3-2, on Tuesday night in Long Island.
The Flyers announced eight depth signings as free agency opened on Monday afternoon.
