In the nine games the Flyers and Islanders have played since meeting in the playoffs, five have gone to overtime. The Flyers have won all five, including Sunday night on a goal by Kevin Hayes, securing a fourth straight win and a four-point weekend against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season.
Kevin Hayes scored on the power play with 38 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Flyers a 4-3 win over the Islanders, their fourth straight win, on Sunday night at Wells Fargo Center.

The good: the Flyers did not play close to their best on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins and still won 5-2. The bad: it was a sloppy game throughout, a game that required goaltending to be at its best and may have cost the Flyers their top forward.

With Wednesday’s result still fresh in their minds, expect a more determined effort from the Penguins, as the Flyers look to get off to a 2-0 start. The opening face-off is at 7 p.m.
