The Flyers announced the hiring of Michel Therrien and Mike Yeo as assistant coaches on Vigneault’s staff.

If the Flyers did everything they could to eliminate chances in front of Carter Hart in the first two games of his career, they didn’t do him any favors in his third game. Hart was left in difficult position, needing to recover from the shortcomings the Flyers had early in the season, in a 4-3 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Speculation was that Dave Hakstol would exit as Flyers head coach before Ron Hextall lost his job as GM. With a new GM search underway, it would seem the coaching staff has numbered days.

There are times now where it seems Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol has given up on trying to find the positive spin on games, sounding more like a coach defeated than a coach with an overabundance of positivity. Maybe that’s because there is nowhere to hide anymore. Is it time for a change?
