Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers make their lone appearance in Philadelphia against the Flyers on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Center.

Now that the Flyers have a win under their belts, they look to continue that against another high-powered offense, facing the Edmonton Oilers.
For the third straight game, the Flyers faced the “win a period, win a game” scenario, once again going up against some stiff competition to start the season. After falling short last Saturday against the still-undefeated Florida Panthers, the Flyers passed the test this time.
The Flyers open a three-game Western Canada road trip against the Edmonton Oilers, another team undefeated with a 5-0-0 record. Wednesday’s game will mark a second straight without Ryan Ellis in the lineup, making the challenge that much tougher.
Travis Konecny had three assists in the Metropolitan Division’s 9-5 loss to the Atlantic Division. The Pacific Division claimed victory in the 3-on-3 tournament with a 5-4 win over the Atlantic in the final at the 2020 NHL All-Star Game in St. Louis.
Three quick goals in the second period put the game away as the Oilers rolled to a win over the Flyers behind Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
The Flyers complete their first of 17 back-to-backs this season, as they return to the ice following Tuesday’s 3-1 loss in Calgary to close out a three-game Western Canada road trip against the Edmonton Oilers.
Saturday’s game was certainly not be design, but the Flyers stayed with the game and found a way to rally back and win in overtime, defeating the Oilers, 5-4, in overtime. It has them up to seven straight wins and surging.
The Flyers come home for the next five games, starting with the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday afternoon, where they welcome Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and former head coach Ken Hitchcock.
