MLB has failed in its attempt to return from COVID-19. What can we learn from it?
The Phillies and New York Yankees will not play baseball Monday night, after the Phillies weekend opponent Miami Marlins is battling a COVID-19 outbreak.
On a night where Aaron Nola looked to run out of gas in the sixth, the Phillies offense was flat and a rookie made a rocky big-league debut out of the pen, SS Didi Gregorius shined bright. He had two hits including a home run in a 5-2 loss to the Marlins.
The Phillies (0-0) host the Miami Marlins (0-0) at Citizens Bank Park to open the 2020 season. RHP Aaron Nola faces off against 2019 NL All-Star RHP Sandy Alcantara for the Marlins.
The Phillies, with the fewest problems starting a short season, find themselves in perhaps a great opportunity to win the National League East.
