It became a night to forget for the Flyers, as what remains of their playoff hopes took a massive hit with a 7-6 loss to the Maple Leafs on Friday night.

The Flyers did what they had to against the Ottawa Senators. After falling behind in the first period, they stayed the course, got their legs, took the lead in the second and handled business against the NHL’s worst team this season in a 3-2 win.
The Senators made things interested with a late goal, but the Flyers held on for a 3-2 win. Coupled with Columbus’ 2-0 loss to the Islanders, the Flyers moved to within three points of a playoff spot with the win.
The Flyers didn’t get much help in the playoff race, but did close the margin to five points with another convincing win over the Islanders, and the margin will remain until the team takes the ice again on Monday night.
The Flyers closed out the first period with a pair of goals and scored three goals on five shots in the second to pull away in a 5-2 win over the New York Islanders on Saturday night.
GM Chuck Fletcher updated the status of four injured Flyers on Tuesday after practice.
If the Flyers are able to make up the five-point margin in the standings and make the playoffs, it would be a historical comeback to reach the postseason. If they don’t, well, this run is still remarkable nonetheless.
