The Flyers have re-signed defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen to a five-year, $25.5 million extension with a $5.1 million average annual value, GM Chuck Fletcher announced on Thursday.

Carter Hart was outstanding, setting a new career-high with 47 saves in a 2-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights at Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers’ eight-game homestand comes complete on Tuesday night as they look to build on Saturday’s win, taking on the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Flyers and Red Wings meet again on Saturday afternoon, this time in Detroit.

GM Chuck Fletcher met with the media on Friday morning in the wake of an announcement that Sean Couturier had undergone back surgery that morning and would be out for the remainder of the season. Fletcher also provided more insight to the uncertain returns of both Ryan Ellis and Kevin Hayes in the 2021-22 season.
