Mark Appel, the 1st overall pick in the 2013 MLB draft, has been promoted to the Big Leagues with the Philadelphia Phillies. Appel will be available out of the Phillies bullpen on Saturday against the San Diego Padres.

Former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels is reportedly looking to make a comeback for the 2023 MLB season. Hamels, who won the 2008 World Series MVP Award, hasn’t thrown a pitch in the Major Leagues since September 2020.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws pitcher Griff McGarry struck out a career high 13 in the ‘Claws 5-3 win over Brooklyn. McGarry is the 8th ranked prospect in the Philadelphia Phillies system according to MLB.

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder/designated hitter Bryce Harper has been unveiled as one of the top votegetters in the National League. Harper leads all National League designated hitters in votes for the MLB All Star Game in Los Angeles.

Recently demoted relief pitcher James Norwood has been traded to the Boston Red Sox, the Phillies announced on Saturday afternoon. Norwood was 1-0 with an 8.31 ERA in 20-appearences for the Phillies in 2022 before being designated for assignment.

Reading Fightin’ Phils catcher Logan O’Hoppe has been added to MLB’s Top 100 Prospect list. The 22-year old is leading Reading in multiple categories including home runs, RBI’s, and batting average.

A trio of Phillies minor league prospects have earned Minor League Player of the Month honors for the month of April, the team announced on Thursday.  The awards were bestowed to Lehigh Valley first baseman Darick Hall, Clearwater starting pitcher Andrew Painter, and Corey Phelan.  

The Philadelphia Phillies (11-14) will look to stop their three-game skid on Thursday night against the New York Mets (18-9) in South Philadelphia.  New York has won four-of-six from Philadelphia this season. 

The Philadelphia Phillies (11-13) will look to split their two-game series against the Texas Rangers (9-14) on Wednesday night in South Philly. Texas took the first game of the series 6-4 on Tuesday night. 

The Philadelphia Phillies scored three runs in the 7th inning and one run in the 8th inning to defeat the New York Mets 4-1 on Saturday night at Citi Field.

The Phillies (10-11) will look to get their first hit of the series on Saturday night against the New York Mets (15-6) at Citi Field. The Mets used five pitchers to no-hit the Phillies on their way to a 3-0 win on Friday.

The Phillies (10-10) completed a four-game sweep of Colorado on Thursday in South Philadelphia, breaking out of an offensive funk in the process. The win pushed the Phillies back the .500 mark with a 10-10 record. Now their attention returns to the NL East.   
The Phillies and the first place New York Mets (14-6) open a three-game set in Queens, NYC on Friday night.  

Milwaukee designated hitter Christian Yellich hates the Phillie Phanatic.  Yellich’s 9th inning sacrifice fly was the only run either team would score on Sunday night, as Milwaukee defeated Phillies 1-0 to spoil the Phanatic’s birthday. The loss moves the Phillies record to 6-10 on the season.  

A controversial no call in the 7th inning, followed by C.J. Cron’s three-run homerun propelled the Rockies to a 6-5 come from behind win over the Phillies on Tuesday night in Denver.  The loss is the Phillies third in a row and their 14th in the last 19. Both teams will meet at 3:10 PM/Eastern on Wednesday in the finale of the series. 

Colorado used a two-run 6th and a two-run 7th and lights out pitching from Chad Kuhl and their bullpen to down the Phillies 4-1 in the series opener on Monday Night. Aaron Nola didn’t pitch poorly but was once again on the losing end for the Phillies. With the loss, the Phillies fall to 4-7 on the season.

The Philadelphia Phillies (4-6, 4th NL East) will look to put another disappointing series in the rear-view mirror when they travel to Denver to take on the Colorado Rockies (6-3, 3rd NL West) for three games.

The Marlins embarrassed the Phillies on Sunday in South Florida. The Fish scored 7-runs off of Phillies starter Zack Wheeler on their way to a 9-2 win. The Phillies now have a 7-14 record at loanDepot Park dating back to the beginning of the 2020 season. 

The Phillies offense woke up on Saturday night powering the Fightin’s to a 10-2 win over the Marlins. The win snaps the Phillies four game losing streak and brings their record back to .500.

Good news, folks! After four consecutive losses the Phillies have been booted from your television lineup. Saturday’s game against the Miami Marlins has been relegated to third tier status and will only be available via streaming.

The Marlins beat up on Phillies pitchers Zach Efflin and Nick Nelson on their way to a 7-1 win on Friday night. The loss marks the Phillies fourth consecutive loss.

The Miami Marlins scored three runs in the 4th and one in the 5th to down the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 in front of 31,184 fans at loanDepot Park in South Florida.  The Phillies third consecutive loss moves the Fightin’s below the .500 mark on the season.  The Phils have lost five of their last eight in loanDepot Park dating back to last season.
