Just as they did with Florida a week ago, the Flyers have a chance to create some separation with Columbus when they face each other again on Thursday night, as the Flyers look to complete a season sweep of the Blue Jackets on the road.

When the dust settled from Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the scoreboard read 5-1 in favor of the Flyers. It hardly felt like a game that the Flyers had won by four goals in rather convincing fashion. 

The Flyers currently hold the final wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference with 71 points. That is just one point behind the opponent for the next two games, the Columbus Blue Jackets, who technically hold the first wildcard spot with 72 points though they are tied for third in the division with the Islanders.

Travis Konecny had three assists in the Metropolitan Division’s 9-5 loss to the Atlantic Division. The Pacific Division claimed victory in the 3-on-3 tournament with a 5-4 win over the Atlantic in the final at the 2020 NHL All-Star Game in St. Louis.

Travis Konecny will be the Flyers representative at the NHL All-Star Game on Saturday, Jan. 25. It will be his first career All-Star Game appearance.

The Flyers entered the Thanksgiving holiday on a high note, securing a 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets behind stellar play from Brian Elliott in the third period.

The Flyers look to go into a brief break for Thanksgiving on a high note, traveling to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets on Wednesday night.

The Flyers get back to Eastern Conference play, opening a stretch of 14 straight games against Eastern Conference opponents starting with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night at 7 p.m.

The Blue Jackets claimed a 4-3 win over the Flyers on Thursday night as Seth Jones scored with 32.3 seconds remaining in the overtime.
