Around the NHL: Halfway home, a look at the Eastern Conference at the midway mark

We have just about reached the halfway point of the 2014-2015 regular season. There are currently seven teams in the Eastern Conference that have 50 points or more in the standings.  With 16 teams competing for eight spots, those at the 50 point mark have set themselves up for a playoff push.

Flyers overcome early deficit, hammer Leafs.

  View image | gettyimages.com Toronto scored two early goals. The Couturier line got them back in it. From there, it was the Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek show.  The Flyers would score five straight goals after falling behind 3-2 and Philadelphia blasted Toronto 7-4 Saturday night in Toronto.
