The Flyers got off to another good start in Friday’s game, but the finish was hardly similar to the previous three games. The Flyers suffered their first loss in the preseason since Sunday’s opener, dropping a 3-2 decision in overtime to the Islanders. More on Friday’s game from Allentown in our Postgame Review.

Ryan Pulock scored the game-winning goal on a one-timer in overtime to give the Islanders a 3-2 win over the Flyers at PPL Center on Friday night.

For just the second time this preseason, the Flyers will be the home team. The game takes place in PPL Center, home to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, for the fourth annual preseason meeting in Allentown. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

For the third straight day, the Flyers will face the New York Islanders in a preseason game. Once again, the game is at a different venue, taking place in Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Game time is at 7 p.m.

With the first four days of training camp and two preseason games in the books, it’s provided some clarity on who the Flyers third-line center options appear to be, based on both the on-ice sessions at camp and GM Ron Hextall’s comments.

The opponent remains the same on Monday night, but the Flyers come back to home ice for the first time. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

It was difficult to find many positives out of this game, a 3-0 loss for the Flyers to the Islanders, and an injury to Travis Sanheim only added to it. 

The preseason gets underway on Sunday afternoon with a group of players taking the ice in Long Island as the Flyers go against the New York Islanders. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.

For the Flyers, the conversation seemingly grows every year with more and more prospects nearing the NHL level. That is no different this season, as training camp will feature a number of prospects vying for the chance to make the NHL roster. Here are five prospects to watch throughout training camp.

Ron Hextall’s goal from the day he took over as GM has been to build the Flyers into a Stanley Cup contender. With the roster where it is now, how close are the Flyers to being a true contender?

It was a very up-and-down season for Travis Konecny, but fairly typical for a guy who is still eligible to play at the junior level but somewhat unexpectedly made the Flyers roster. So with a year under his belt, is Konecny due to break out in his sophomore season?
